Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA)

The Private Sector story
KEPSA is the private sector apex and umbrella body set up in 2003, to bring together business community in a single voice to engage and influence public policy for an enabling business environment.
As a key player in championing the interests of the Kenyan business community in trade, investment and industrial relations, KEPSA tasked Riverwood Communications between 2016-2018, to provide internal and external communication awareness for a series of public awareness events it was engaging in during the time.

This included the Private and Public sector Round tables at State House, Speakers Roundtables with Senators and members of parliament, TICAD IV, Jack Ma Visit to Kenya, Pre- election peace initiatives among other things.


The Approach

How we told it
We developed a communication strategy focused on three key areas;
  • To ensure that KEPSA events are well attended and covered and key messages are correctly presented in the media.
  • Position KEPSA as a neutral party in the interest of its members and the General Public.
  • To increase public awareness on KEPSA engagements among its target market and the general public.

The Outcome

What we delivered
  • Events were extensively covered and good coverage received both in traditional and new media.
  • Elevated the media profile of KEPSA and positioned KEPSA as an authoritative brand.
  • Increased awareness on the various public private dialogues platforms KEPSA is involved in - Jack Ma roundtable and the Speakers Round tables with Parliamentarians and Senate,Ticad IV among others.
  • Strengthened relationships between KEPSA and its key media.
  • The 6 month campaign achieved 451 media hits at a PR value of USD 2,081,124
